9318 C&EI 222 on southbound train #123 at West Frankfort, Illinois station C 1940, R Foster collection, C&EI HS collection. Only the side rods and drivers of the 222 would survive being on display for several years at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago.

6602 C&EI 1101 on the Flagler at Evansville, Indiana C-1950. It appears the engine is flying green flags which means a second section behind them, a normal wintertime operation for those bound to Florida. Ray Curl collection, C&EI HS Collection.
5145 C&EI #308 is a 4-4-2 purchased by the Frisco in August 1904, renumbered to #210 and scrapped in 1934. Note the clean engine, full tender, and white flags, apparently ready to depart with a train. Unknown location, circa 1905. C&EI HS Collection
9217 C&EI F3A 1203, F3B 1203 and F3A 1201 are ready to ship to the C&EI. Note the caps and horns are capped for delivery. The only number appearing on the B unit is lower right hand corner and it was numbers to match it leading A unit. EMD Building photo 1948
